When I was in Botswana (South Africa) I noticed a lot of termitaries in savanna. These houses built by termits look very amazing, some of them are 2 meters high (I guess for termits these are like sky-scrapers for us). The constructions are very solid so you can even climb on them like on the trees, but the most interesting thing I should mention is that each termitary is unique - you can never confuse one with another.
That makes the termitaries the ideal signs for orientation in South African savannas, cause the trees, the bushes and the roads look all the same.
