Hi @DN_31 Thanks for reaching out here. You must be trying to upload a photo which has greater than 3 MB in size. Maximum allowed size is 3 MB. You must reduce the size up to 3 MB by resizing the photo.

As you are new to connect I request you to please go through the following posts which may be useful for you.

Hello @dolly31,

Welcome to Connect.

When uploading photos on Connect there are a few steps which is advisable to be followed:

  • Landscape or horizontal layout (more wide than tall) will generally look better than portrait or vertical layout (more tall than wide).
  • Although photos are sometimes displayed as smaller thumbnails elsewhere in Connect, photos you add to post need to be 1000 pixels in width.
  • No single photo file may exceed 3,072KB (kilobytes) in file size. If it is larger than this, you will need to resize it.
  • Photos should be good quality. Not blurry, out of focus, or otherwise difficult to view.

In your case the photo you are trying to upload is larger then 3 MB which can be uploaded. If you don’t have any photo-resizing software installed, feel free to try any of the free online such available on web.

More about this you may find in the Uploading a photo on Connect? Read these guidelines first article.

Please do not hesitate to reach out if this is not clear enough.

The maximum size (3072 kB) is indicated on the message itself, @DN_31 .

If your photo is bigger needs to be resized.

On desktop and mobile there are free tools and Apps, like Snapseed, available.

Hello @DN_31
Now, you have got information on what’s the reason for the problem.
However, how to reduce the file size must be a puzzle to you still.
I guess you are using a phone to upload the photo.
Then, you can use the Snap-seed app to do that. If you do not have the app, you can download that through the Play store.
Next, click the three dots at the top right corner & select settings & tap on the image sizing options. There you can select a suitable px value. Please note, a smaller number will reduce the file size but will degrade the image & hence you have to strike a balance.
After that open the oversize photo in the app & select Export as to save a smaller sized file.
Once done, you can use that for uploading to connect.

Hi @DN_31 I recommend a simple Google hosted website called https://squoosh.app/ which makes resizing any photo on any device really easy.
