Hi @Abhishekverma26

Uploading video is similar as uploading photo on the google maps.

How to create a video when you’re at a place:

  • Search and select a place on Google Maps
  • Scroll down and tap “Add a photo”
  • Tap “Camera” and hold the shutter button for up to 10 seconds

How to upload a video you’ve already shot:

  • Search and select a place on Google Maps
  • Scroll down and tap “Add a photo”
  • Tap “Folder” and select a video. Only the first 30 seconds of a video can be added.

Hi @Abhishekverma26 . I am totally agree with reply of @VinayKrishna .

Vinay describe it very well. But solution credit is given to @vvaibhav655 .

Hi @Abhishekverma26 ,

Thanks for reaching out!

Please note that I accepted @VinayKrishna 's reply as a solution as it gives the complete answer to your question.

In addition to that, please take a look for more information at the following article: Add, remove, or share photos and videos.

Thank you for tagging me @Sandeepnirvan

@Abhishekverma26 , your question has been asked, and answered, a huge amount of times, and a simple search in Connect can show you a huge amount of answer. Just click on how to upload a video on maps to check.

BTW, most of your question can find an answer directly from the Help center of Google Maps , accessible from your app and from Google Maps on desktop. Regarding Video, a very detailed explanation can be found in Add, remove, or share photos and videos

Basically, there is no difference between adding a photo and adding a video. Both can:

  • Be taken directly from the place’s page
  • Added using a photo or a video stored on your contributions
  • Added using a photo or a video stored in Google Photo

The concept of the two answer is the same, @Sandeepnirvan , both of them are correct, both of them are incomplete

I agree with you @ErmesT

Even if a user does not take the pains to search on the Connect due to inexperience, whenever somebody starts entering the subject line, the site provides suggestions on similar topics discussed earlier.
That setting is on by default, and any newcomer will not click “Turn-off suggestions”.

PS: I could guess the real reason. That was a part of gamification!

I had written a post on that a few days back.

I agree with you, @C_T .

BTW, the title of the post is something that we all missed.

Helpful for me is an important keyword in the question, and no one of us paid attention to that detail.

A video in fact is not just a long photo, and should be used to show something that in a photo cannot be shown. The quality of what we show is what transform a video in an Helpful video, @Abhishekverma26 .

The video function has not been implemented in Maps just to give more points, but to represent dynamic situation that a simple photo cannot show, like the preparation of a dish, to give you an example. Most of the videos in Google Maps are not uploaded following this principle, and this is the main reason why director badge is the only one I don’t have

@PoliMC Sorry ,

I understood what Vaibhav told me in the short and after that I uploaded the video.I believe in Vinay’s information details but Vaibhav has clearly told me all the things in one line and I have also applied things.

Hi @Abhishekverma26

No issues. Thanks for challenging @PoliMC 's solution.

Please find some time to read this-

Hello @ErmesT @PoliMC

Can someone override the conclusion by moderators?

What’s the purpose of moderation then?

Further, the subject line and details do not match. In the subject, the user wants to know about helpful video. Whereas, in the details, the person is expressing the lack of basic knowledge. Then, that needs a detailed explanation and not the one-liner solution.

Hi @Abhishekverma26 ,

I understand your reasoning in accepting @vvaibhav655 's solution, however, if you take a look at this article: How do I mark comments as solutions?, you will see that solutions should provide a definite answer to your query. Since @ErmesT is correct that we missed the word helpful in your question, I believe he provided the best answer hence I am selecting his comment as a solution.

@VinayKrishna , the How-tos section is where we provide the best answers to Local Guides’ questions, and a user selecting another solution is not in fact challenging. However, I believe, that in order to improve future search results so that more people can find the information they are looking for, we as moderators, have to find the most accurate and helpful answer.

Hi @C_T

I am not been asked to answer your queries. I know this is not my thread

But, I think i should reply to this thread.

Currently a number of peoples are involved in the unfair means of earnings badges to enhance their glory.

One thing i has noticed that, the process was so fast in this particular questions. Within a minute the posting and marking as ‘solution’ was done.

That’s the gamification part I mentioned in my post @VinayKrishna !
