How to upload an album of photos for a particular place

I am wondering how to upload an album in Google Photos to a specific location for Google Maps. I am also wondering if there is a way to automatically group photos by GPS location so I can sort out where the pictures were taken more easily than arranging them in Google Photos.

Hi @PeterCBurbery

There is not a way to easily upload one album to a particular place on Google Maps.

Did you notice the map shown when you swipe on a photo in Google Photos? This will show you where you took the photo.

And have you tried Share to Google Maps in Google Photos? There you can quickly select a batch of photos going to the same pin. And Google maps will guess which pin it belongs to. In no correct there is a list or you can start typing the name of the pin.

Currently, using Share to Google Maps from Google Photos is my preferred method because it is generally faster than first finding the place manually on Google Maps.

I remember there is a way to show a map with all photos in an album. But I don’t remember the steps by heart.

Maybe I could suggest to Google adding the feature to quickly upload photographs by location. If I were to go about giving feedback to Google, what would be a good place to start? Is there a way to suggest improvements to Google Photos and Google Maps as a Local Guide?

Hi again @PeterCBurbery

It would be really helpful if you would use the tagging tool when replying to someone here on Connect. Type @ followed by the username. Type slowly. Then we get an e-mail notification and you are more likely to get a prompt reply.

In my opinion having a batch upload feature is not such a good idea for two reasons.

  1. adding a lot of photos to one place is not the best strategy. If you only upload 1 picture to each place and you select your very best photo. The quality will go up.

  2. secondly, the Share to Google Maps is pretty much a batch upload feature. Just better as it can suggest where to uploade your photo/photos to.

But, let me answer your question :

New features can be communicated to Google by sharing a post in the Idea Exchange here on Connect. Feel free to make a post describing your proposal.

Cheers

GOOGLE MAP IS VERY GOOD PIATFORM

This is what maps do already, @PeterCBurbery , if your photos are geo-tagged.

Just go in the Contribute menu, ans scroll the page down to reach Contribute now, then tap in Add photos.

The app will suggest you the photos to add, based on the estimate position

Of course you can change the Location, before to upload your photos. However, be careful with that function, because it can suggest also photos that you already added in Maps. In addition, as I already told you here, I would like to discourage to post a lot of photos, and to select them carefully the ones you choose to post. Many of the ones you have already uploaded in my opinion should be removed

I agree with you, @TINKURAMMEENA , Google maps is a Good platform. So why you only add spam in there?

Do you really think that your selfies repeated in several places will be helpful for others?
