How to turn off restricted profile option and be followed?

Hi , can anyone please tell me how do I change my profile settings in google maps from my laptop , I want to turn off restricted profile option , and I wanted to know if I turn off restricted profile will others be able follow me because the follow option is not visible for me profile :disappointed: , Please attach some screenshots too to help m eout and remember I want to do it from my laptop that’s why :slightly_smiling_face: Please help me out .

Hello , actually how I had an small issue , I’m able to follow others from various places in India but nobody is able to follow me ,infact I’m able to follow my mom her location is also from Chennai and mine too , when I clicked on my profile there was no follow option , I started my local guides account using a tab and in that I’m not able to find restricted profile option too , so please tell me what should I do , should I change my profile settings through my desktop or something else . Please help me out .

Unfortunately the follow option has not reached your profile yet. Google is implementing it rather slowly over several months. There is nothing you can do except wait.

Hi @IamAnwesha

It is not possible to turn OFF you profile restrictions from laptop. This is a change that you can make only from mobile, as you can read in Manage your Maps profile

In any case your profile has no restrictions, and is publicly visible.

The following option (also available only in mobile) has not been completely rolled out, and some Local Guide is not yet able to be followed by other people.

This is not because of your settings, but simply because the “follow” feature has not yet been implemented in your profile

The follow option will not show up or dissappear when you change the restricted setting.

Others can only see your contributions if you have selected restricted and you then approve them to follow you.

The “Follow” feature is rolling out very slowly, and I can tell you that also some of the Connect Moderators had this feature enabled just a few days ago

What is replied above is correct. The Follow feature is still rolling out.

Please note that I have accepted @ErmesT 's reply as a solution as it gives the complete answer to your question.

I will also edit the heading of your post to an easier recognizable one. This way when having the same question other Local Guides will be able to find the solution easier.
