How to successfully save description of places in lists

Hi All,

When we create a list on Maps, we get an option to add description of the places we add to the list. The descriptions get saved initially. But on re-opening the list, the descriptions disappear.

Here is an example of the list I created and tried adding descriptions into.

Am I doing it the wrong way or is it a bug?

Tagging @AriMar and @ErmesT for help.

Regards,

Himanshu

A few people have noticed this @HimsBoss please send feedback via the Maps app. The experience doesn’t seem to be universal so could be related to where you’re using the product.

On Computer open maps in a browser: your places, maps click on the map list created, Open in My maps then click on the title or description to edit. Save. See screenshots below:

Edit each place description, opening data table as in the images below:

I do not see this option on Android :frowning: but I am still looking.

Hello @HimsBoss You’re not only one. @PaulPavlinovich Many others are also having this problem and I have reported this here on 03-13-2019. In that post @GeorgesHR said they are going to investigate this issue. But the problem still persists, even if it not for all, at least for a handful of them.

Hi @GigiR

What you shared is Google MyMaps. But @HimsBoss is talking about Lists in Google Maps.

Thanks!

Thanks @PaulPavlinovich and @SaifIS for the comments.

I have sent this as a feedback on maps app. Hope this gets resolved soon.

@HimsBoss @SaifIS @PaulPavlinovich As I was facing the same problem (descriptions disappeared or were replaced by the review for the places I had reviewed), I have tested some scenarios and have now found out that a multi-device approach seems to do the trick - at least the descriptions I have added now for the 3rd or 4th time in a newly created list are still there after a day or 2.

The list was created in the mobile Maps app, the list order was also adapted using the mobile app (there is no way to do that on desktop as far as I can see), but adding the descriptions was done on desktop. I had obviously saved the description texts in a text editor app.
