HOW TO SOON GET PUBLISHED A MISSING PLACE ON GOOGLE MAPS?

Hi local guides,

Do you have any tips on how to make a missing place that you added on Google maps to be soon published?

I many times tried to add places but noticed not to APPLY or wait for long time-one or two months to be published a place.

That sometimes discourages me to add more places on GGM, even I key in most of required information.

Hi @QuangTamNhu , Have you looked at "Why is my edit status “Pending” or “Not Applied”?

If your edit is published or not, depends on several factors as mentioned in above URL:

_After you add an edit to Google Maps, it’s **reviewed by either local operators**, an **automated system**, or both to ensure the **information is accurate and [follows our guidelines](https://maps.google.com/localguides/rules)**._

Currently, because of COVID-19, delays are expected.

Hello,

While adding the missing place what are the details you enter ?? Just the name and category won’t be sufficient most of the times. Do add the place’s 2-3 photos including the place name. This usually helps in chances of quick approval.

And here in India, at least in my hometown of Mysuru, I have noticed I can’t create Bank places or ATM places or correct the map marker of an ATM. It always denies and says not applied almost immediately. Recently, I visited my bank, I noticed on their Information TV which said somewhat like, “Please check for our branches and ATMs only on our bank’s official website, do not Google them or check in Map applications due to cases of fraud and misguiding spam locations”

Well, yeah, some of the places are restricted in a way for us to add or edit.

What @shashaankcd and @sparekh shared is correct, from my experience a place can be approved with minimum details such as name, category and the location on the map, depending on the type of business you normally add on Google Maps, that is used to create a history on what you do best.

Adding more details on the business it will create a lot of work to be verified before the business can be approved. Another thing is that in some other locations, adding of certain businesses can be locked to prevent scams if detected or reported on that particular location. What I can suggest to you is follow this basics rules on Add a missing place to the map if your edit is not approved, trust me, you will be notified once verified or not.

Keep in mind that due to Global emergency(COVID-19) some of our edits will be delayed as stated here on Temporary product changes in Google Maps. Thank you, have a nice day.

Hi @QuangTamNhu

Normally new places are approved within a few hours. But currently, nothing seems to be approved quickly. I have new places that normally would be approved within minutes hanging in the pending queue for more than two weeks now.

Hopefully, things will start to improve soon.
