In the current case, it would seem that Google Maps is being in (Map Preview) version. (you may check Beta Test of Google Maps and recent update for further remark)
In the meantime, I just wanted to let you know that the title has been added a bit more details, so that the community may understand even more swiftly (do feel free to correct further if needed).

The new aspect of Google Maps is just rolling on, and it seems you are one of the first that are trying that. Congratulations.
As the new version is really very NEW, you have some message in blue to help you to find the position of the controls.
