How to send a reply's link (not the post itself)?

I know how to share a link to a post, but not to an specific reply.

People is texting me saying the way I do it it’s “a bit exhausting” :joy: , to scroll up and down until the find it (if they do so ;).

For instance, as you may see in the image, I tried the “e-mail to a friend” feature, but they received a full page of the post of @KatieMcBroom , so popular there are nearly 200 replies!

Thank you very much!

Hi @SonjaPerera

If I understand correctly, I have good news for you.

You need to open the three dots-menu for the reply and select “Permalink”. When it has finished loading you just copy the URL at the top of your browser. There you have it.

Try it out. Feel free to ask again if you need a longer explanation.

Cheers

I’ll try it at once & be back to you!

Tha @MortenCopenhagen !

Got it @MortenCopenhagen !

Although it still opens the whole page of replies, at least it does it at the specific part where my reply is!

Thanks again!

Hi @SonjaPerera

I’m glad you figured it out. I think it makes sense to keep the context in Permalinks. Otherwise, people could easily get lost.

If relevant you can always take a screenshot and share that if you want it “out of context”.

Hi @SonjaPerera ,

Thanks for sharing inquiry with the community! : ]

In addition to what @MortenCopenhagen kindly shared, alternatively you may also go directly to the homepage of a Local Guide’s profile, and to search and open directly to the permalink of a regarded reply.

May I add:

Your topic:

How to send a reply’s link (not the post itself)?

would be more precise if you changed it to

Where to find the link to a single reply (not the whole thread)?

This will make it easier for others that might have the same problem.

Cheers

Thank you @sonnyNg

This is the way I’m doing in my Laptop

Do you mean as a format, @MortenCopenhagen ?

Sorry for not being clear, @SonjaPerera

Please edit your initial question above and paste in the new Subject and save again.

Normally we use the word post about the individual answers/replies. While the question including the replies is called a thread. This is not super important. But would be more correct and helpful for others.

Up to you.

Cheers
