How to scroll down very far on Desktop?

Hi

I was hoping to find photos in my contribution list that were posted to now permanently closed places. This in order to delete dem so my public and private photocount could get in sync.

I would love to have all my pics loaded so I can use the Crtl+f (search in page" to find all the “Unknown place” and from there delete such images.

But how do I scroll all the way down? I tried pulling down in the vertical scrollbar. But it stops again and again. And I need to find and grap the little marker again and again. It takes too long. Any tips would be highly appreciated.

Maybe @C_T knows a shortcut?

Thanks

I just tried Crtl+End. It is better than most solutions I have tried.

I know the difficult to scroll down for searching the photos, @MortenCopenhagen , BTW a permanently closed place on maps still be possible to find by searching the name of the business.

Closed businesses still in fact present on maps.

Unknown place is related to places that are not longer present on Maps, because erased from maps (fake places) or merged to another place (duplicate)

Hello @MortenCopenhagen

I use scroll wheel with setting one screen at a time & then keep that pressed down. That’s the fastest way & eliminates the trouble of picking scroll bar. Ctrl+end doesn’t work.

However, my photos contribution is less than 2K. Otherwise, loading all the photos in cached memory is extremely difficult. The CPU becomes unresponsive beyond certain limit.

Hi @MortenCopenhagen using the method mentioned by @ErmesT could be the easiest solution, or go to your archive. Not sure if there is another way except what has been mentioned by others.

As you know @MortenCopenhagen I’ve written about this topic before Sorting of Contribution Photos

It’s a frustrating problem for very active LGs with many reviews and in time many photos and as time goes by even for the moderately active LG they will eventually hit this volume photo problem.

Agree, @ErmesT

Also, places we tried to create but ended up pending for ever are marked Unknow place.

Thanks

Thanks @C_T

I will give that solution a try.

Maybe I was hoping for a trick to load my photo contributions without the actual photos and into a full page and not just that tiny panel.

Hi @Raphael-Mahumane

The album view where each photo has it’s own folder is somehow not available to me. But thanks anyway.

Thanks @AdamGT for reminding us about your earlier and excellent post on this. I remember it and still support it strongly. I just wish somebody responsible at Google soon would chime in at let us know what they are planning and what they would recommend us to do in the meantime.

@sonnyNg , could you bring this issue back on the agenda of the relevant decision makers?

Cheers

Yes you are right, @MortenCopenhagen , sorry for not thinking about this possibility, as I usually I add a photo only when Google ask me to add a photo of the storefront to demonstrate that the place exist, and I am quite fortunate on adding places

Hi @sonnyNg

Thanks for jumping in on this. You will recall that I raised this topic as far back as October 2019 (see: Sorting of Contribution Photos) but the issue continues frustrate LGs and particularly so for very active LGs who are making significant valued contributions to Maps. As time goes on even for the moderately active LG they will eventually hit this volume photo scrolling problem. Some priority to this issue would be welcomed!
