How do i save an unknown place in google maps. By place i specifically mean someone’s house or a small shop with no name. For eg: I visit my aunt who lives in village and the route to her place is very far and away from the main road. In order to make sure i remember the place next time i visit i want to save the location in my map with her name (probably). Is there any way? @Aruni

Thanks for the quick reply. I did visit the page but it is very specific with the place. It mentions to search for a place. But what i am talking is about a random place which has no name. For eg: My aunt’s house. I just want to save that location. Its not an apartment or something. Just a house. Unable to do it.

Thanks for reaching out. Just keep in mind that private houses should not be added on Google Maps because Google Maps is specially designed for places with a physical location.
You can set your home and work address that can go to be visible only to you. For further reference, you can check the Set or change your home and work address article.

Thanks for the suggestion. So it means i cannot save a private place in google maps like my aunt’s house, cousin’s house etc.? Instead i can save my workplace location and my home location which are public places. I hope i am correct.

An easy way to find an address not named by Google Maps, like your relative’s house, is to add a label to it. Learn how to Give a place a private label.
