Throughout my stay in the city of La Paz Bolivia, I have started using google maps to know more about the city, with the passage of time I have become a Local Guide contributing with information to several points of the city for people Like me who are interested in knowing it, I have learned many things, but what caught my attention as a Gastronomy student, was the ease with which we can find food businesses quickly and easily thanks to Google maps, however this is not enough compared to what we could get when giving information about a restaurant, that’s why, for my friends Local Guides, I will give you some advice on what points are important when giving information about a restaurant or business food.
Being that there are many does not give us the time to give detailed opinions about a place, but even so we want to help, it would be enough to put:
- A range of food prices of the establishment
For example: In the Paladar restaurant we can find dishes from 20 bs. until 40 bs.
This will help people who read your note to know if that restaurant is out of pocket or not, so they will avoid packing, to be surprised that the prices exceed the cost of what they had planned to use. - Type of food served
This is also important, since many of the restaurants do not describe what type of dishes they offer in their menu / menu, and here is where we can help, commented something like: here they serve pure hamburgers, or pure seafood. With this we will help to dispel the doubts of people who are thinking twice about going to a place without knowing what kind of dishes were there. - Name 3 or 5 dishes
Reiterating, the restaurants often do not disclose the menu that has therefore disinformation reigns in the people who read the information of the restaurant, it is not enough just to say what kind of food they sell but also better still is to give examples of the dishes, returning to the previous example with hamburgers we can say that in the panchita snack, we can find chicken, beef, pork, bacon and vegetarian burgers. This way people will be more confident and sure to go to the restaurant. - Give an opinion about the care
While many comment “the place is very nice” or “delicious food” it is also important to talk about the service that as a Gastronomy student I can tell you that it is a fundamental part of the food business, since it does not matter how much exquisite is the dish, if the waiter gives a bad attention or take too long to serve the food, the positive impact to the customer will be greatly reduced, said this comment how is the service in place, if it is fast effective, if the food arrives cold or you have to make a long line … since there are people with little time looking for fast lunch and with this information we will save a soul from running into these … inconveniences.
These points were the ones that I noticed that are needed when it comes to reporting on a place, although there is no note I hope you share or comment, so we can improve and change for the local community of Guides.

A lo largo de mi estadía en la ciudad de La Paz Bolivia, he empezado a usar google maps para conocer mas de la ciudad, con el paso del tiempo me he convertido en un Local Guide aportando con información a varios puntos de la ciudad para personas como yo que están interesados en conocerla, he aprendido muchas cosas, pero lo que mas me llamo la atención como estudiante de Gastronomía, fue la facilidad con la que podemos encontrar negocios de comida de una manera rápida y sencilla gracias a google maps, sin embargo esto no es suficiente comparado a lo que podríamos llegar al dar la información sobre un restaurante es por eso que para mis compañeros guías locales, les daré unos consejos sobre que puntos son importantes a la hora de dar información sobre un restaurante o negocio de comida.
Siendo que ha muchos no nos da el tiempo para dar opiniones detalladas sobre un lugar pero aun así queremos ayudar, bastara con poner:
- Un rango de precios de los alimentos del establecimiento
Por ejemplo: En el restaurante Paladar podemos encontrar platillos desde los 20 bs. hasta los 40 bs.
esto ayudara a las personas que lean su nota a saber si ese restaurante esta al alcanza de su bolsillo o no, así se evitaran de ir encano para recibir la sorpresa de que los precios exceden los gastos de lo que tenían planeado utilizar. - Tipo de comida que sirven
Esto también es importante, ya que muchos de los restaurantes no describen que tipo de platillos ofrecen en su carta/menú, y acá es donde nosotros podemos ayudar, comentado algo como: acá se sirven puras hamburguesas, o puros mariscos. Con esto ayudaremos a disipar las dudas de la gente que se esta pensando 2 veces en ir a un lugar sin saber que clase de platillos se encontrara ahí - Nombrar 3 o 5 platos
Reiterando, los restaurantes muchas veces no dan a conocer el menu que tienen por ende la desinformacion reina en las personas que leen la informacion de dicho restaurante, no basta solo con decir que tipo de comida venden sino tambien mejor aun es el dar ejemplos de los platos, retomando el anterior ejemplo con las hamburguesas podemos decir que en el snack panchita, podemos encontrar hamburguesas de pollo, res, cerdo, tocino, vegetarianas. Así la gente estará mas confiada y segura de ir al restaurante. - Dar una opinión sobre la atención
Si bien muchos comentar “el lugar es muy lindo” o “Rica comida” también es importante hablar sobre el tema del servicio que como estudiante de Gastronomía puedo decirles que es una parte fundamental en el negocio de la comida, ya que no importa que tan exquisito sea el plato, si el mesero da una mala atención o se tardan demasiado en servir la comida, el impacto positivo hacia el cliente se vera enormemente reducido, dicho esto comentad como es el servicio en el lugar, si es rápido eficaz, si la comida llega fría o hay que hacer mucha fila… ya que hay personas con escaso tiempo que buscan almorzar rápido y con esta información salvaremos a una alma de toparse con estos…inconvenientes.
Estos puntos fueron los que note que hacen falta a la hora de informar sobre un lugar, si bien hay que yo no note espero ustedes lo compartan o comenten, para asi podamos mejorar y cambiar para bien la comunidad de Local Guides.
