The post preview feature is available both on Android and IOS device. You can find it by scrolling down till the end of the page. See the screenshot bellow:
Obviously I missed the “comment” part of the question, I am sorry.
So to sum up: When starting a new post, the ‘Preview’ option is visible both on mobile device and desktop. When writing a comment or reply, the same option is visible on desktop and not showing on mobile (both Android and IOS).
Thanks for flagging this @C_T and @ErmesT , we will look into it and update you when have news.
PS I removed the Solution from my previous reply as it is not such.
I am trying to go back with the memory to the preliminary test of Connect2.
If I remember correctly, the “preview” button was originally in the same position for post and replies, but it was addressed wrongly, and this is probably the reason why, on desktop, has now been moved over the text formatting toolbox, disappearing on mobile
The example presented by you is that of a new post. There wasn’t any issue in that.
I am expecting a preview feature for replies to already published post.
As you can see in the screenshot below, there isn’t any preview button for this specific reply.
Still, I am not removing the solution tag as I think the problem posted by me is more of a nuisance. I can always invoke the workaround of switching to a desktop site while replying to some important thread.
I came across this post while trying to figure out why I no longer have access to the Preview button. It’s been almost a year now, and I can’t see it on either mobile or desktop browsers like Chrome, or Edge.
Does anyone have any updates on this please? I find the Preview feature really useful, especially for longer posts, as it helps catch formatting issues before publishing.
Using it you can switch between Standard Markdown Editor and New Rich Text Editor.
With the first one, that was the only one available when the new connect was released, in the editor you don’t see how your post will appears, so you need a preview.
With the new Rich Text editor you will see directly in the editor how the post will appear when published, so a preview is not necessary
Thanks for this explanation @ErmesT. I wasn’t aware of the Rich Text editor, so I always used my phone in the default standard mode and accessed the Preview function. I just did a brief test to check out the alternative method.
Thank you so much @ErmesT. It has been more than a year am struggling to find that preview which were working fine. I am new to Connect so I did not know the old one. But your suggestion worked! I indeed needed to click on Standard Mardown editor and the preview poped! Thanks again, you saved me lots of time formating!
