Yesterday, after many months, I received questions against “Know this place?”.
I noted two distinct additions in that querying whether do you manage this business or do you manage any other business here.
I was pleased to answer those and many other questions.
But surprise, when I clicked that POI once again after some time, “Know this place?” surfaced once again.
Most of the questions remained a repeat.
After undergoing that, I noted that the whole exercise added only two points.
Admittedly, I did not receive any points for the repeats.
However, that generates curiosity. Are the questions being repeated now to verify consistency or integrity? Also, is there a way to prevent those repeats?
I actually also noticed this same exact thing happening over the last few days and was about to post about this but after doing a search found your post @C_T . Perhaps @sonnyNg might take a look at this issue.
In my case I have noticed that the repeated questions are happening for a set containing different (around 4 or 5) POIs but it seems to be locked into and repeating the same questions for those same 4 or 5 different POIs with no points being allocated.
At time T1 questions are asked for POI#1 - POI#2 - POI#3 - POI#4 - POI#5
Later at time T2 asked the same questions for the same POI#1 to POI#5
and so on at time Tn asked the same questions for the same POI#1 to POI#5
Typical questions being repeatedly asked for each POI include:
Is there a wheelchair accessible entrance there?
Is there a wheelchair accessible entrance parking?
Is there any progress on this annoying issue. I was just asked to answer a question about a POI which I did and then was asked if I know this place which I did and so answered a few more questions about this place but then this was followed with the same repeat questions as I have been asked for many weeks now of 4 other POIs as I had mentioned in an earlier reply in this thread.
For the moment, as having conducted personally tests to first recreate the issue, please do make sure to check , should the location(s) that the Q&A may pop up frequently, to see if they happen to be registered on more than one device. (which I forgot to ask for confirmation, would that be that case at your end @C_T , @AdamGT ?)
To give another test that you may try, is to check in the Timeline, to find the specific day of visit to a POI that the Q&A may pop up frequently, to remove it and then to add it again (it is a bit of brute force method, but we have to make sure).
Could you please explain how to see if the problem POIs happen to be registered on more than one device?
Regarding your brute force method, with hundreds of POIs and some visited on more than one day it is a massive task, in fact near impossible, to go through the Timeline manually to find the individual visits. The search facilities in the Timeline have not been designed for this. Can you provide simple steps to achieve this?
My apologies for not being quite through, as I was with the intention to clear up the case when a LG would have two devices, as it both of them may pin that location as already visited.
What I would advise checking is, to go to Your Timeline, pick the date that of one location (just one for test), which would repeatedly show up with the question “Know this place”, tap on it - then press the Delete button to remove the location. Then you may go back to add the same place (pick the time that you visited the place), as to see if the situation may happen again.
