I believe, your query is regarding search in Maps.
Maps app shows the search result for the region visible in the window.
If you wish lesser results, zoom in & select a smaller area. You can decide where to stop by looking at the scale on the map,
Nevertheless, if you do not want to be troubled with some stray search results, download a map of your region. Then go offline & search. However, not all the functionalities would be available in an offline map.
However, if the query is regarding the posts in Connect, then you can select three cities within a hundred miles & then look for those in “Favourite locations” tab. Remove rest all options from your home page through settings.
But, many users do not mark a city in their post & then you may miss most of the interesting articles.

Can you give us some more information please @Tre9406 - do you mean on Maps or here on Connect?
In Maps you can add the words “near me” to only see things near you on any search e.g. “toilets near me”
If you mean here on Connect then I recommend reading this Announcement about Localisation options.
