Local guide pin play a main role in introducing a local guide to the fellow people. Isn’t it. I am willing to know how to obtain a good local guide pin.
I think I would be able to hear a favourable reply.

Local Guides pin is a trademark and can be used by Google only.
Some sticker with the pin can be occasionally given to Local Guides during official events.
Please check the program rules

I love to help my community. I would feel acknowledged if I received the local guide pin. I would love to know how to get one
Hay got my local guide pin from Google after I crossed my 23,000 contributions and I got my pin today

The Local Guides program is a voluntary program and is all about helping each other with our contributions. There are some rewards, given from time to time as a ‘‘thank you’’ from Google for your quality contributions, however, there isn’t a promised reward for participating or reaching a certain level or views. You can read more about it in this article. I also recommend that you check this discussion where you will find some of the reasons for being a Local Guide.
To maximize your chances of being eligible for a future reward opportunity, continue to add high quality contributions to Google Maps and make sure to update your email preferences.
I enjoy helping others in the community. I feel as i am a part of a family. My job as a guide is to give people insight into places they could go. I also like to exchange ideas and be creative for Google community. I just asked about the local guide pin because of course receiving them gives an acknowledgement for the good work and contributions

you will get when you reach a certain point in contributions…and don’t lose hope you will get one day.
I’m in level 7 but while a few friends of mine also level 7 and even level 6 have gotten their pins. I want one for myself too.

Hi @joaopmgoncalves . Getting a local guide pin isn’t guaranteed to everyone. It’s a random selection.
Random selection for giving rewards is agreed, but should reward people who are associated for long term first. Here people with level 6 and 7 are getting rewards and 8 & above still waiting for the day their contribution will be acknowledged.

Hi @VandanJ . I agree with you. I’m level 8 and I’ve received two pins as a level 2 and 5. I haven’t received anything at all since then.
Random selection of local guide for sending the goodies is nothing but Injustice to guides who are giving genuine reviews for sooooo long.
Google should create a criteria, fulfilling which one will receive the goodies.

I received a mail that I got special pin but I forgot to redeem before due date and now the code is not working. Can google reissue code

Hi @Livewireriot there is a customer service for Local Guides. Ask a moderator if they can help you find out how to reach them. They helped me get my pin. I had a similar problem to yours and i got my pin. Good 
If you failed to redeem before the deadline, you will need to wait and hope for another reward coming your way someday.

Hi @Livewireriot . I did check the faq page on local guides and they said they cant redeem an expired offer but you should still reach a moderator and try. You can’t go wrong with trying.
I really agree with you. I believe they should change the reward system to local guides who are level 7 and higher.
