Why is it so much fun to review places and share pictures? Not only are we building a whole platform together, where people can
discover the world, but we’re bringing a lot of value to places and people.
When you’re writing a review, think about how you can bring something to the table that wasn’t there. Did you miss any information when you checked out the website? Did you find anything extra super cool or special at the place? Mention it! Or did you have any trouble, maybe using something or missing something? Write it in your review! Chances are you’re helping someone out!
Of course, this can be info like ‘this place isn’t wheelchair accessible, or the terrace is but the toilet isn’t’ but also things like ‘make sure you check out the top floor for an amazing view of the city’ or ‘they serve free tea with a meal’ which people will get excited about and might otherwise not have discovered.
That’s why I really love contributing to maps. I feel I’m doing something worthwhile and usually am creating a win-win situation. Either the location will have more visitors and they’ll be happier, or at least the location will know what’s wrong with it and people will be able to make a better choice. (If I ever leave a negative review, I’m very open and honest about MY point of view and who might disagree or not care about the same stuff I do care about.)
