How to make a Street View 360 with a GoPro

Using my GoPro 4 Silver I tried to make a 360. Although challenging as it does not have a preview on the back I followed these steps to get a Street View compatible image. First thing is to pick a spot on the ground that you will rotate the camera around. Then hold the camera in portrait orientation and point it down towards the ground at about 30 degrees from the horizon and take a first shot. Then point the camera upwards at about 30 degrees above the horizon and take another shot. Now, while making sure the camera is still over the same spot on the ground rotate in a circle about 60 degrees and take two shots like you did at the first position. Repeat this 6 times to cover the scene in all 360 degrees and you will have all the images you need. There is a free software called Hugin that you can use to stitch the images into a 360 Street View compatible format. There are lots of tutorials on the internet. I also use PTGui which is not free but has more functionality and ease of use. I tried this underwater with limited success as I had forgotten that optics change where the water has a magnification effect and I should have taken more images to cover the whole 180 degrees up and down. You can see the resulting test in the embedded tour below. Good luck and have fun !
