How to Share the Facts that make your Points Rise as a Local Guide.
Being a Google Local Guide has become more interesting for me, as I have come to understand the need to share useful and factual information about places, especially Businesses around me. As a Passionate Local Guide; building my Points and Climbing to new Levels is now my major concern. I am proud of what I do, so I am committed to using my dexterity in Digital and Media Advertising, not only for Self actualization or profit realization, but most importantly for Community Development. Google rewards my Passion; being a Local Guide has given me so much, I will love to Give back to the Society as well.

Look out for Buildings under Renovation - The recent Corona Virus Pandemic has stirred up lots of infrastructural development, if you pay attention to your neighborhood…you will find out that some Places/Businesses are either renovating their Building or moving to a new Location. You can take Photos and share as a recent update, you can also mark such places as temporarily closed, you can also adjust their Location on the Map if they have moved to a new Place. Edits like this can Increase your Points Rapidly!

Engage in Offline Marketing - As a Google Local Guide, you ought to be a Fact Finder! The easiest way to do this is by going out there and relating with people in real time! When you hangout for recreation or visit new places, A simple 5mins Conversation with the Business Owner or Customers you see, can give you valuable insights about the Place. You can also learn about new ways in which they operate in line with the Guidelines for COVID-19. You can share findings like COVID-19 updates and preventive measures newly put in place. This makes it easy for you to answer FAQ’s accurately, more so, when reviewing the Business or Place you visited, you can write lengthy reviews. The more details you have, the more Points you earn!

Focus on Passion, not Profits! - I believe strongly that when you Love what you do, you do it very well! Being passionate about your responsibility as a Local Guide creates a Deep sense of fulfillment, especially as it affects your immediate environment and the society in its entirety. Recently, a popular Market Place near my house was razed by fire! This happened about an hour: 30 minutes after midnight, no street cameras to capture the incident, By morning, there was a major Traffic Jam and Gridlock in that area, preventing people from easily commuting. All that could have been avoided. How? Well…that’s where I come in as a Google Local Guide. By taking photos of the incident and recording short videos, it is easy for me to Update it on the Maps immediately. This way, I have become a source of factual news and live updates even before the Early Morning Breaking News on Radio & TV. Everything is not about a making money by Advertising for Business Owners, we all have a critical role to Play in Upholding and improving the Standard or Living around us by Sharing Useful and Factual Information, right on time!
