How to get 15 Million Views in 3 years

  1. Remember you are a journalist for yourself and others worldwide 24/7. Having accomplished a Level 8 Local Guide over the past 3 years from Google is a great honor.

What I have discovered from taking all sorts of different pictures is that People want to see the Ambiance of the place of interest. For example: In a restaurant, people want to see setting, the furnishing, the food items, what people wear at that place.

People love to know in advance what it is all about. Next, people want to trust the source. So take different angle pictures of the same subject. One picture alone does not tell the story of the event or place. I have taken pictures of the same lake at different times of day. A place I frequent. And each set of pictures has its own set of multiple views at day time, versus sunset time. From close, from far. Including many people, including few or no people. Shoot for all the tastes out there, because we are all different.

Lastly, to get large number of views, go visit the popular places, popular stores, popular events, etc. Just because there are already pictures out there of that popular spot does not mean that more people near by or worldwide do not want to see other views of the same thing. I shot a close up of a fine wine cabinetry in a popular restaurant in Chicago, and within a month it had about 50 thousand views. Wow! That picture shot definitely taught me a lesson to provide popular shots of popular items. When in doubt, shoot.

Hence, if you are a new local guide remember those 3 elements to add or continue doing as a fellow journalist to all fellow people. 1. Capture the ambiance. 2. Get multiple shots. 3. Visit those popular places. Always be a journalist everywhere you go. Take your cell phone with you everywhere, and share to others who accompany you to excuse you for taking necessary pictures to share for all of us.

Best,
