A couple of weeks ago the Permalink functionality dissapeared from my menu.
I’m afraid it’s a bit of a headache because in my phone is not that easy to browse and copy links. I must admit I got a bit discouraged -posting turns somehow unfriendly.
Do you know how to have this very useful tool back in my menu? (And my life 
).

BTW, to obtain the permalink you need to click on “Highlight”.

Is it so that you are trying to find a permalink for the main article? Then you will not see that as it’s not necessary. The address in the browser bar itself is the link. Alternatively, you can also click on the share symbol to copy the link.
The permalink feature will be there for any reply so as to pinpoint to a specific reply. I can see a permalink to the reply by @ErmesT as in the screenshot below.
If you can’t see a permalink option even for a reply, then, please try clearing the cookies and browsing history.
Permalink command is available also for the main posi, @C_T , even if, as you said, it is possible to obtain the link of the post in several other ways.
What I find interesting (when did you cleared the cache last time, @SonjaPerera ?) is the “old” terms on the menu:
The two terms have been replaced a very long time ago

As suggested by @C_T , @SonjaPerera could you please try to clear your cache and cookies, meanwhile I will take a look into your issue.
In addition to that as mentioned by @ErmesT permalink option should be visible everywhere even on the main post authored by yourself.

In the morning, I was also not getting the permalink for any main post.

Let me please be squematich, sorry about it: I’m on exams and need to concentrate.
1.- Permalink is not showed IN ANY CASE: replies, not main posts (mine or other’s). Here is a recent example:
2.- As I told you copying the link from the browser is not an appropriate option in my phone. I have to momentary leave the app, then go to Chrome, then copy, then back to the app (in adition, usually post is closed, showing Connect home, and have to search again). Quite a painstaking job that usually ends giving up the process. Maybe my phone is not that smart. 
3.- Nor the copy link option when sharing (please see image named screenshot). Just the oprion of the email, go to gmail, then copy… desperating, I’m afraid.
4.- I’ve already clean cookies aand cache but nothing seems to happen.

@SonjaPerera , are you using the browser, or the pseudo App in chrome?
That App is not the best way to use Connect, I have removed it and I am using directly the browser, where you can copy the URL of a post/reply directly from the URL bar
In any case the highlight command is the old name of the “permalink” with the same function.
I have never seen the permalink function in the main post. A permalink function is only available for the comments inside any post (as mentioned by @C_T ). As mentioned it is easier to copy a link from the browser. As the permalink button will reload the page you are on, it is better to copy the link from the address bar.
In the options tab of this post, I am unable to find any such function. in a thread started by me, it is available above the button to accept as a solution.

In this section to copy the link to the post, tap in the search bar and search for copy, it is easier than expected.

In which board you are while taking this screenshot? I don’t the implementation of highlight button and use of it.
I do agree with @ErmesT , about browsing connect; It is always better to use chrome while accessing www.localguidesconnect.com

When you tapped on that permalink function the first screenshot, the link was copied automatically to your clip diary or copied it from the address bar?

I would never imagine that the app wasn’t the best option. Neither I know highlight was similar to permalink. Oh dear, so much to learn!
