Google has abolished Conversations by Language to promote international exchange. I sympathize with it.
But for us Japanese, exchange in our native language is still important.

Using English outside of a language board has never been a requirement in Connect (or any of the other non-language specific support forums). This is the international board, not the English board, and you are welcome to use Japanese or any other language in it.
What this can then lead to is that others, using the built in translation, outside of your local community might be able to provide you help and insight with many things.

I guess Google translation is the best. I also understand that international exchange is the goal.
However, the current Japanese think that it would be better to use other SNS if Google exchange by automatic translation. It is too early for the Japanese to do the international exchange with automatic translation.
