How to draw a road under a road

In road editor, does anyone know how to draw a road under a road? The roads always connect. I need them not to connect to each other.

This is not possible for Maps users to do.

I would draw the roads, wait for them to get approved then request help in the Maps support forum to get it fixed.

Thanks Morten. Just to clarify, how would you draw them?

If an old/existing road was labeled road “A” and I was trying to add road “B” under road A, would I simply draw road B across road A and just let them connect to each other? Then ask for help to get the two roads detached from one another.

Or, would I draw road B up close to road A and stop, then, on the other side of road A, start a new line for road B just a little bit off of road A, so that they don’t connect?

I would love to talk to a level 10 that knows a lot about drawing roads if you would be willing? I have a few other questions about drawing roads that I haven’t been able to get other local tour guides to answer…

Thank you.

Actually you can’t avoid the connection when you draw two roads crossing each other, @Shanephilip

It means that we can’t define, while driving a road, elements like overpass/bridges, or underpass

However you can let the algorithm do it for you: break the road just before the line of the existing one, as close as possible, but avoiding the connection with the existing road, and restart on the other side in the same way.

It worked for me already, especially if you draw the new segments selecting “continue editing”. In this way you will also keep the same category automatically
