How to Develop Your Community by Being a Local Guide?

Business are very important for any community. They give us jobs, purposes, social interactiviy, growth and so much more. When we care about being better employees and entrepreneurs everyday, we’re saying we care about being better persons for society.

It’s true! For example, take a woman who start selling chocolates for her family and friends just to have a little more money by the end of the month. But her product is so good that all of the sudden people start to order more and more, and when she realizes it’s time to open a small store or production setting to sell more. And she gets better day after day, order after order, because she cares about the sutomer’s experience and also she wants people in the neighborhood to know she is really good at chocolates. The more she cares about the clients, more money she makes, more employers she hires, more clients happy, more families happy, etc.

This example is very usual in Brazil and from what I know, it’s something that happens in any country.

Big companies are very important, but the small business are the biggest leaders when it comes to develop communities. Only in Brazil, they’re responsible for more than 70% of all jobs. But how does it have anything to do with Local Guides?

Simple. Google My Business is one of the most important tools for small business’ digital marketing. And It’s FREE! So, any company can [MUST!] be part of it. As in any brand, small business need to be recognized by their products and services and the best way to do this is gathering public feedback.

Ring a bell?

As Local Guides we’re commited to give as many feedbacks as we can. Share our photos and opinions on Google Maps is more important for small business than we think. Believe me, I’m a digital marketeer and small business are my clientes. They really appreciate the effort and they take notes of everything we say to improve their stores, products, services, strategies and so on. Even when they don’t have a spot on the map, we must give them one, adding missing places and checking for the information registered.

That is what drives me to be a Local Guide. Helping to grow small business is the same thing of helping to develop your community. I know there is a lot of people out there doing amazing social work and making real difference! But I also believe that we should focus on what we do best, this way we can give our best to society.

In my case, help business is what I do best!

You may think I’m being a little bit “romantic” in this post… if you do, please share yout thoughts
