How to deal with "Address or map location is incorrect." when you try to change map locations?

Hey guys,

I’m trying to change the location of Ristorante - Pizzeria La Nave, but when I submit my suggestion I get the following error: “Address or map location is incorrect.”

I tried to google what the problem is but I couldn’t find any answer. So I’m wondering:

  • How can we, as local guides, change locations when this error occurs?
  • Does anybody know more about this error? What causes it?

I try to move the pin of the restaurant to this building:

Hi @MaxFlieger

When we’re moving the marker of a POI to the correct location, it is important to pay attention to the correct address related to that new location, too.

Since the business hasn’t moved and it has only a small wrong location, your edit to move it is true but you should also change the address based on the new location.

First, enter “Viale Cantieri” as the street and use # in the address line to enter the building number. Then move the marker (which is already moved by the system after entering the address) to the accurate location based on the satellite imagery.

This will help tell the system what the correct location is and the system knows that location matches with the correct address.

Creating a post with all kinds of errors needs a lot of free time and focus. Anyway, may someone do this one day.

By the way, don’t forget to use @ in responses to tag, so we can receive the notification about it.

@Amiran Thank you for all the information! Interesting that it not has the feature to notify someone if you hit “Reply”.

This is an absolute standard feature in modern web apps.

Well, it is indeed possible :sweat_smile: by enabling it globally in the settings page > notification, or by enabling it below the comment field for each comment individually.

But since its general setting causes lots of unwanted notifications, we disable it. On the other hand, not all users necessarily enable it for each comment. But tagging will ensure that we receive notification when someone is talking to us.
