I just reported a post that was for the wrong business; the popup said there was an error submitting my report. In fact what it did was it converted my report from not applicable to this business to spam, which it wasn’t.
I’d like to correct this; can I? if I can, how?

I believe your are talking about reporting a review on Google Maps.
We can’t undo such actions, but on the other hand it might not cause any damage. Reporting for spam or not relevant to the place/business is likely to be handled in the same way.
When I report a place as No public access the email later says just Closed.
So the best tip is just to be careful when yuu chose to flag a contribution.
