How to contribute more effectively on connect- Reply

Dear local guides,

In replying some of my recent Post now I got this little question or would we call it an inspiration. How do we actually connect effectively or contribute effectively in other words on connect? Of course we have to read and do alot of research, findings and then write a post. Like the rules of connect also has it to be as Original as possible in our posts. Have you ever thought of not only writing a very good detailed constructive post but also having a very knowledgeable and supportive REPLY**???** I like @Ewaade_3A recent post on Connect to connect.We are not just on connect for badges or like comments or just for trending post etc. Its not just like another social media,its all about being connected. Now what am I really getting at ??? Am talking about our REPLY to fellow local guide’s posts. There are about examples of local guides which has really impressed me and of course kudos to some of us who that already.

  • The first instance is about my good buddy on connect @Austinelewex . His trending post on Grilled or Boiled corn . It is a very detailed post and I followed it and replied too. Some of our fellow local guides @mockata2 replied so constructively that the post had to be edited and his contribution in the reply was added to the picture of the main post of course with his kind permission. He also sent in a video from Bulgaria about a fellow selling corn,otbwas a hilarious one!!! That’s like co-writing a post like co-hosting a meet up. That’s a good example of a very knowledgeable reply. It’s so easy to click on a like comment on a post and not send any reply. Sometimes just a line of reply is all we send. It’s high time we start we read the post very carefully and follow and even support our fellow local guide
  • The second instance is about our dear foodie and friend on connect @Izumi . She made a comment on my post of Curry rice legumes and chicken . Infact she didn’t only make a comment,she tried it all the way from Japan. When we saw that,we agreed to edit the post and add up the picture of her own trial of my recipe. We have teased that she may get a badge for that but maybe she won’t!!! It’s so easy to send in all these posts on connect and we don’t benefit or try anything at all. "Be supportive of your fellow guides ideas and send in constructive replies"
  • The latest one that actually inspired me to write this post is about another nice fellow guide @Nuhuu . His comment on one of my posts Kenkey fried fish and fresh pepper sauce was far beyond fish and meat. He noticed that the Kenkey(made from corn dough) was wrapped in a clean corn husk and his comment was"believe this would be a new development if we adopt the warping in a clean corn husk instead to help save the environment pollution of plastic" that’s sparkled a discussion on saving our environment and the earth. We were both together on a virtual meet up organised by @Sagir saving our environment. The discussion then moved from food into environmental issue which Is a very critical issue at the moment. All because he had a "good knowledgeable and constructive reply" In his case we didn’t rewrite the post but we changed the direction of the post on our discussion.

Lastly even if you can write a good post,support others who are writing one and back them up with comments pictures ideas replies etc that can connect us all together for the good of connect.

Comments and likes are all we need to get going on connect. That is why I find it so easy to not only read by like my fellow Local Guide post. :slightly_smiling_face:

Hello @shola thanks for your post.

it is really very constructive. I’m sure your tips and advice will help a lot of local guides. You know, it’s not always easy to find an original idea to write a post. But you also have to understand that there are people who write a lot and some who write a little. Even if a post or an answer to a post is very short, it is sometimes interesting. We can explain some things in a few words and make ourselves understood, but sometimes we need more details. For me it is the content of the post that is important. Therefore a short post can be as interesting as a long one. Have a nice day.

@Mmessmi

Exactly.

It’s also depends on personal choice, the ways of contributions,

Mindset, intrest, hobbies, skills and many more.

In short different local guides have different point of view.

Everyone is different.

That’s very true,I agree. The bottom line is to be creative and supportive either you wrote little or much. We don’t all have the same capabilities,but if you support those who have it we will all grow together. I appreciate your contribution and comments on this. Have a nice day too and please keep contributing and posting.
