Update (25/06/21): Just to clarify, I designed the text and Community Live logo only whilst the other elements are from a stock library. Some are straightforward to add on whilst for others, I’ve combined multiple elements to get the final look. And I’ve added more designs too. Oh, and to give credit where credit is due, I am mainly using Canva as they have a pretty good stock library (I have a paid subscription with them). And I used Affinity Designer to design the birthday text. Community Live logo was designed using Inkscape.
It’s crazy o’clock here and I should be sleeping (3am! Eek!) but I’ve been working away on this project (another one!) as part of the fun, festive and fabulous unofficial birthday celebrations that we’ve got planned for celebrating Connect’s 5th Birthday!
Officially, the birthday falls on 15th July, but we’re encouraging the whole community to join us in turning the whole month of July into a month of celebrations, virtual parties, fun challenges and so much more! I’ve got a few things planned but I’m hoping to see the community step up and organise many more events! With regards to hosting virtual parties, we shall be hearing soon from @KashifMisidia ! So start brainstorming and get your hosting hats on!
Anyway, this is a pre-celebration post because I wanted to share some designs that I’ve been working on that I hope you will like! This is 100% optional so don’t feel that you have to do it but feel free to use the designs and get them printed out on t-shirts to celebrate in style! You will have to find your own local company that prints custom t-shirts and obviously, pay for it yourself!
You can find all 111 123 designs in this folder. The designs are only to be used by yourself and is meant for Local Guides celebrating Connect’s 5th Birthday. They are strictly not for sale and please do not edit and reuse them elsewhere. You can put the designs on the front or back of your t-shirt, along the chest line, or just the chest pocket area. It’s entirely up to you and hopefully you will find something nice from the folder. My last tip is that it should look best on a white t-shirt. Black might also be okay but it depends on the quality of the print.
Oh, and feel free to design your own t-shirts too; you don’t have to use any of my designs! And do appreciate that if you do decide to print any of my designs, you do it at your own risk and cost. I haven’t tested nor verified the quality of the designs and I don’t know if they are suitable for t-shirts… but @PennyChristie did try one out and it looked fabulous!
Anyhoo, time for sleep! Enjoy!!
Update #1: Do check out this post to find all the events related to celebrating Connect’s 5th Birthday!!
Update #2: So, I ordered my shirt ages ago… and because of a slip up, I only just got the shirt one day before the Manchester meet-up event hosted by @PeteMHW ! Phew! Anyway, I thought I’d share a photo showing the printed shirt.
If you did print out a shirt, feel free to share your photo in the comments below! Just tagging @jayasimha78 , @Globe_trotter_Ish and @ShafiulB that I know did get them printed.
