Being in Foz do Iguaçu gives us a unique feeling, as the city borders two countries, Argentina and Paraguay. The city’s airport is very close to the center, and the most effective will be to rent a car at one of the three rental companies you have at the airport, or to take a taxi; the city recently released the use of Uber.
Hotels in the simple region, there is nothing very luxurious, as the city is small. If you want to visit Paraguay, I advise you to go by taxi, as the border is very busy and parking is almost impossible. There are Paraguayan taxis that also make the return journey to Brazil, and if they are running high, it is also allowed to cross on foot. To cross Argentina, it is not possible to be on foot, as the road is very long. Both countries, Argentina and Paraguay stamp passports, but in Paraguay you have to apply for immigration, as no entry and exit documents are inspected.
In Argentina, just present the passport and the entry / exit stamp will be made. You can use your ID to make the crossing as well. Regarding purchases in Paraguay, be aware that the legally allowed limit is up to USD 300.00 declared per person. If you buy more than that, I advise you to remove it from the box, or leave it in a way that was not a purchase with the intention of resale. Pay attention at the airport too, because there ALL the bags go through the inspection of the Federal Revenue.
In Argentina, after going through immigration, on the right side of the road you will find Duty Free, where you can buy perfumes, chocolates, jewelry, etc … As long as you respect the 300.00 USD limit. It is worth visiting the Parque das Aves, Cataratas, Itaipu Hydroelectric Power Plant, Ice Bar, and everything you find interesting in the region.
I want to apologize myself about the pictures side, I don’t know how to rotate the pictures.
