Hello Local Guides,
Wondering how to get on a plane with small children? Firstly I must say, air travel is one of the safest travel in the world. A few weeks ago, I went to Goa with my family and our 8 month-old daughter was on a flight with me.
There were a few things we just followed, so we had no problems on our flight. I am sharing them with you now.
-
Be it domestic or international, be sure to take a baby stroller with you when traveling with children. Keep in mind that the door of the aircraft can be used up to the moment before.
-
Any major airport has a separate “baby care room” for babies, try to stay there most of the time by following the sign board at the airport.
-
Download some offline videos (Nursery rhymes, cartoons etc) from YouTube in your mobile by using airport free wi-fi.
-
Our adults ’ears get stuck during take offs and landing at the airport and many of us has to swallow to overcome this - but in the case of children please give them some fluids at that time.
-
Happily, babies have almost no air sickness or nausea while on the plane, due to the complex physiology of their nervous system.
-
No need to fasten seat belts to children under 4 years while on the plane, just hold them tightly in your lap.
In India, LCD displays in front of seats are not usually seen on domestic flights, so small toys, story books or teddys can be carried as hand luggage. If you travel by an international airlines, there are hundreds of cartoons on LCD displays to watch.
And if you’re lucky, there are some airlines that can give your kids attractive gifts by traveling on their plane.
After all, flight attendants are always ready to help you at any time of the trip. So why delay, start flying with your kids in peace.
