How To Add Missing Roads on the Maps-New Feature.

I have recently taken special interest in scavenging the maps to draw missing roads in the last month or 2 and it has been quite interesting. Despite the delay in getting the approvals, I have gotten a good number drawn. Out of the hundreds of roads I have drawn, I have gotten 56 approved and registered on my profile

Some more Emails of road approvals came in yesterday, but that will take 3-4 days before it’s reflected on my profile that’s not a worry. Well, all those are by the way really, this morning I’ve got free time on my hands and decided to draw missing roads on the maps and I noticed a new development altogether. Normally or should I say when I started some months ago,you can only draw one road at a time. Now I was able to draw more than one before submitting. It’s quite exciting really!!! Although for the point mongers it may not have an appeal, for others who enjoy contributing to the maps points or not it’s great. At this point we commend our able and hardworking Google team for their constant effort to improve the maps.

I also noticed a penlike Icon which is also new.

However I noticed we have no more option to indicate if it’s;

  • A local road
  • Main road
  • Bike trail etc.

After submission, you have a space asking for further details which is also indicated as (optional). Maybe some others have also noticed, just thought to share my New Discovery with you all today. Happy guiding.

Thank you. It has since gone up to 70 roads as at yesterday. It’s become the easiest local guide activity for me. I could do that from the comfort of my house really. Although it takes a good while before approval yet I just keep searching and drawing them.

I like to draw roads on Google maps and it’s my favorite task @SholaIB .

During my journey on Google Map maker I had added more than 8.8K kilometres road on maps.

Now on Google maps I’ve added 310 approved roads and I’ve also access to new Road mapper.

Thank you for replying and for the inspirations to draw roads too. I am fast loving that task as well now. It’s Covid19 measure friendly, that means you can contribute without going out or having contact with people :grinning:

Road Maker was gone before I started contributing to the maps unfortunately, but now on Google maps I have only 72 approved roads. I also have access to New Road Mapper. I have drawn almost 2k kilometres and about 1500 challenges done.
