How to add Following LGs on Google Maps (not Connect)

Local Guides Connect recently added a feature that lets LGs follow other LGs.

I see on Google Maps that it also has this feature, Followers and Following. I would have thought that these would be synced but apparently not, because the LGs I follow on Connect don’t show up on the Google Maps feature.

See below screenshot from my Pixel 3 XL.

Hi @TheEagleEye , how are you doing? Following a Local Guide on Connect doesn’t mean that you are following him/her on Maps (they are different features).

BTW, the possibility to follow a local guide on Maps is still being tested by Google, and they are available only in some markets, so far: Bangkok, Delhi, London, Mexico City, New York, Osaka, San Francisco, São Paulo, and Tokyo.

I’m already able to follow my fellow Local Guides from Sao Paulo, for example, but anyone can follow me, once I am registered in Rio de Janeiro.

It is a very nice idea, and I hope that soon it will be available for everyone.

Please, refer to this article for more information:

Best regards,

Hi @TheEagleEye ,

Thanks for sharing the question! : ]

I just wanted to make sure, as what was mentioned in the post relates to the Follow function on Connect and Google Maps, correct?

Much appreciated from what @AlexandreCampbell kindly shared!

If I may add, as the [Follow](http://How%20do I follow other Local Guides on Connect?) function on Connect should have a separate operation from the Follow function on Google Maps, in case it may clarify partially the main inquiry in the post.

Hello my friend, hope you’re doing fantastic.

As of right you friends is not an option on Google maps but you can follow lists and places since recent updates.

For example a store that has Goole business and they post about events or someone’s list about best Italian restaurants in NYC for example.
