How to add Bio in Google local guide profile?

Hello Local Guides And Google Moderator, I am not able to add my bio in my google local guide profile I am not getting any information regarding how to add Bio :grimacing: in Google local guide profile.

please help me how to add Bio in my google local guide profile… :sweat_smile: :blush:

Hi @Shubham8696

The field is called About me and it is right under your username when editing your profile on a Desktop. I can’t find the field when using my Android phone. That is most likely the reason why you can’t find it.

If confirmed by others you might want to propose a solution to this in the Idea Exchange.

Thanks for reaching out.

You can add your bio to your Google Maps profile following these steps applicable for Android devices:

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app .
  2. Tap Contribute, View your profile, Edit profile.
  3. Write your bio (up to 200 characters).
  4. Tap Save.

If you are using IOS device and for more information, please refer to this article - My profile.

If you refer to your Connect profile, go to My settings, Personal, Personal information, Biography (add your details here), Save.

Just for the record:

There are two different Bios. One on Google Maps and one here on Connect.

Hello @MashaPS

The user is querying about how to add Bio on Connect & hence the solution mentioned by you is incorrect as that reefers to a bio on Google Maps.

Hello @Shubham8696 You can add the bio to Connect even on an Android phone.

Go to through My settings -->Advance settings (appearing at the bottom)–> Preferences → Personal → Personal information & then scroll down to the box Biography.

Here is a screen shot of that option

Whatever you enter here will appear in the Bio section of your profile. Also please note, you need setting the privacy option also in an appropriate manner so as to make that visible to all.

Hi @mkanoria

Good question. I prepared this image to explain. At the top, you can see where the bio-text is inserted on the Desktop. Below you see a screenshot from my profile where you can see how the bio text is shown.
