OK, I’ll bight. What’s the well kept secret? 
Been to a local Korean restaurant, (Tanomi, Lidcombe NSW Australia), deserves a good review, and i have some nice photos of the food building etc.
Would like to add the review, not offered this location in Maps, and consequently the photos are not offered as well.
How do I add the review? What am I missing?

If Google Maps is working as expected, please open the pin (placesheet) and from there you can tap Reviews at the top. Then start by selecting how many stars you will give. Next you can type your review and add your photos.

Found it, but IMHO not intuitive. Had to first search for the location.
One problem, when using a Linux box, not possible to add photos from Google Photos.
Only option is to “Add photos from your computer”, and unfortunately Google Photos can only be accessed through photos.google.com, ar the icon, on Linux; thus the photos aren’t “on your computer” Any workaround for this?
It would be beneficial if you would use the tagging tool when replying to someone here on Connect. Type @ followed by the username. Type slowly. Then we get an e-mail notification and you are more likely to get a prompt reply.
I often use a ChromeOS flex lap top to add my photos to Google Maps. Please check if there is a tab called From Mobile when adding photos to Google Maps. It works great on ChromeOS.
From your mobile try Share after selecting an image in Google Photos. Then share to Google Maps. It is super nicely integrated. It suggests the place - which is sometimes correct

The “Reply” button is there, I shall continue to use that, otherwise,thanks for your advice.

Yes but I am using Linux, completely different.
The reply button is not working as you anticipate. So please do tag people you want to see your replies, @Catman88
