How something unintentionally becomes very satisfying!

Hi everyone, my name is Cecilia, I’m 26 and live in Recife. I consider myself as a cinephile, traveler, designer and researcher. The first two I can call it hobbies and the others two professional. I believe that my passion about movies and travel are connected somehow. The movies makes me dream and the trips makes my dreams come true. Every new place that I visit, somehow, takes me to a movie I had watched before. Which makes me see the world in a different way. And I’m really happy to be able to share those experiences with you all.

For me, be a Local Guide is one of the most excited way to share with people about my travel experiences. I love to travel! Visit differents places, cultures, try new food and meet people is incredible, don’t you agree? When I’m planning a trip, I always start with movies about the place or that happens in the place I am going to travel. Then blogs and YouTube channels helps me a lot to plan a trip. I always use the Google tools to do so. Starting with the Google Flight, Google Maps, Google Spreadsheet… I recently use the Google Maps to plan a road trip from Recife to Bonito, with several stops and was amazing! I highly recommend.

What I mean with “use Google Maps during a road trip”? Easy, every year my boyfriend and I celebrate our anniversary with some trip. But we were tired of just visiting beaches. So I selected a country town, near to Recife, that none of us knew. And instead of going straight to the final destination, Bonito, I researched several stops and added to the route through Google Maps. So, I planned all the stops on the car trip and put it on a route on Google Maps. We got to know other cities on the way and the trip was even more special.

My dream, as a traveler and cinephile, is to do a trip based on classic films. For example, getting to know New York starting with Breakfast at Tiffany’s. And stroll in Paris as in Funny Face. Yes, I love Audrey Hepburn’s films, sue me… I don’t know you, but for every trip I use to create a folder with places to visit on Google Maps, which helps a lot. Having say that, user reviews and other Local Guide’s reviews helps a lot in selecting the places I’m going to visit. It was one of the reasons I started writing more reviews, to help other people in the same way that they help me. Evaluating and indicating locations.

Which is funny about me be a Local Guide is that happen so quickly and totally unintentionally. The Google started to make questions about the places I visited, in my city and during trips, and I started to like to answer it. Share my experiences and help people to choose the better place to go or to visit is really fun. The Local Guides program was, to me, the first step to started my own blog about travel. With this program I was able to realize that I have several experiences that can help others. And share my experiences is very satisfying. And let’s be honest, who doesn’t like to talk about trips and new places that knew, approved and had a different experience?!

I hope to be able to help more and more people by sharing my experiences. I hope to improve more and more in which review and be able to travel even more!!! Traveling is one of the best things in the world!

It’s a nice way to start being a Local Guide, with a road trip. I hope to do it one day too.

I will give you an advice: google have a feature called my maps https://www.google.com/maps/d/?hl=pt-BR

Next time you can use it too to select your stops and use some pins to show yourself what is on it. You can also share your personal map in your blog with other people. And they will see exactly what you have done.

Thanks for sharing your travel with us.

Thank you for the tip, I never had heared about this tool before… And now I gonna use in every trip I made.
