How sharing helps me feel good about myself

Seek to create new memories.

Have random willingness to open-up.

Explore new possibilities.

Get closer to being yourself.

Yes, I love to write (https://www.mirakee.com/vickysardar243), and I feel great to express myself on any platform (http://instagram.com/vicky_sardar_). This habit didn’t develop overnight but took cumulative bits and pieces time to time.

I like to add reviews especially about the places that I’ve visited. It serves as a food for thought. Talking about food, I also share pics of the food that I usually eat outside. One should be healthy both mentally and physically and part of that can be achieved through good food. Plus seeing pictures of tasty food makes me hungry and lively at the same time and I think that must be the case with everyone. I am a frequent traveller. I love trekking, exploring new places, new food outlets. But this was not exactly the case in the past. Earlier, I felt nervous going to the place that I have never visited before.

This phobia emerged when I visited Nepal, back in the year 2000. I visited the place during summer vacation with my mother. Kathmandu, Darjeeling were on our visiting list. We took a bus from Gorakhpur to Kathmandu, which was a 10 hours journey. We arrived at Kathmandu around 2 am in the morning. It was quite chilly there. My mom had made reservations at a hotel over phone (landline). Mobile phones were rare during that time. Mom got the number of that hotel from a relative who had visited the place an year back. We checked in at the hotel around 2:45 am. We were supposed to get up by 4:30 am to see Sunrise point. Mom decided not to hire a local guide due to the financial constraints. Everything was planned based on the reviews provided by the relative which proved to be insufficient. The water in the shower was ice cold and there were no heaters. In addition, the locations that were on our list of sight-seeing, were far from our hotel. We faced tremendous difficulties in travel as well as with food during our entire tour. With this incident in mind, I started writing about the experiences I had during any tour or visit to some new place. The purpose being to stamp the moment permanently in the form of concrete memories which will prove to be helpful in the future for me as well as the person who refers it.

One becomes comfortable when he can foresee about a place in advance before visiting there in person. I have overcome my fear and turned into a confident person altogether. Nowadays, I feel quite safe and relax to explore new places based on the reviews provided by the people who had been there. Driving in a new city is quite easy owing to Navigator provided in the maps. I can do comparative analysis quite comfortably based on the suggestions provided by others.

When I find the place exactly the way it was mentioned in a review, it pleases me, makes me smile, makes me break free, makes me feel that I have already been there, Déjà vu!

Currently, I am working as a Research Associate in an engineering institute. Key responsibilities include to research, design and develop new products which can be marketable after pilot production. I have 18 research papers on my name and have filed 1 patent which is under review (https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Vicky_Sardar2). During the research phase, I refer the work done by other researchers in the same subject earlier. This proves to be a great platform in boosting my research work. When I propose a new methodology, I get views and recommendation for other researchers.

My work tends to contribute a bit in assisting others with their research. It gives me great satisfaction when I get some views, recommendation and suggestion over any of my articles. Everyone needs a helping hand during some point in their life and the local guide community is such an open platform for all to seek help whenever required. It provides a huge potential for others to explore new possibilities and that too with ease.

With empty stomach, a person usually becomes low on confidence and energy. Good food boosts up the mood and nudges a person to continue further with his endeavors.

I love to share reviews as well as photos of the food that I consume during my travel. Delicious looking pictures of food gives the traveler a hypothetical sense of taste that he may be able to satisfy during his visit.

So, to sum it up, being a reason for someone’s happiness or comfort soothes me as many local guides are doing the same by sharing their valuable inputs all over the globe.
