I would like to read stories from people who are trying to do it or have reached level 10. Let’s learn from each other’s experiences in this journey.
Id like to know too…I’m on 6
It’s very realistic. It really depends on your craft and what you like doing. If you’re an avid reviewer, you’ll go far with a lot of the reviews and ratings, and all the questions you’ll answer about the place. If you’re a photographer, you can take snaps of a lot of different things, and I mean a lot of different things. If you want high integrity of Google maps, make as many edits to improve the local area and fill in some missing information.
I’m aiming to reach Level 10 within the next month, and that’s about 15,000 points away. It’s reachable, but the best thing is not to venture on yourself. Meet up with other local guides, encourage each other and foster community to really make an impact.
Thanks so much for your valuable feedback. I will definitely keep everything you advise in mind for the next few places I will visit around Boston and to be more creative with my photos. ![]()
It is very realistic, really hard though.
Two months ago I was level 4, now I’m 7. Try to do everything you can with a place or business, write a good and helpful review, rate the place and accurately answer the questions about the place. The only thing I don’t do is to upload videos, not because I don’t want to, but because the option is not available for my device. This is like a game, however, we are helping people in the process.
Enjoy!
Thanks…I’m gonna work on hosting a meetup…
Thanks…thinking about hosting a few meet ups
Dear @LuisVilleda , hope all’s well. Yes, it’s do-able. Everything Briggs said is gold. Do what you love.
Every single contribution of every single Maps user stacks up side by side to make Maps awesome. As in, we’re all in it together.
The switch from slow to fast for us was understanding what Google wants from Local Guides, especially, “What makes a good edit,” and Program Rules. Everywhere you look, you’ll see ways to improve Maps.
Pending waits or denies can hurt. We suggest the edit we believe is right then forget it. If it’s pending forever, so what? It’s Google’s concern. We literally don’t look back. Contributions are what makes Maps, so stack your contributions so high that Google will have to invent something new to review them all.
Level 10 is easy, just keep going. Kindest regards from Osaka78 PS If you’re not sure about anything Maps related, ask Flash ![]()
It’s definitely possible to reach Level 10, @LuisVilleda . There are nearly 170 L10 members only on LGC (and many may have never registered here). Surely it takes some time (each of us has started from zero) but if you do not concentrate on the points themselves, but the joy of sharing your knowledge and photos, this time will pass unnoticed.
