In a matter of months, I went from the top 5% to the top 1% in my city, Kansas City, Missouri simply by participating in something I was already contributing to (if that makes sense). I was leaving reviews well before I even knew that there were other benefits to it (outside of helping others).
That makes me think that either people are not contributing, or there aren’t many locals that know about becoming a guide.
When I do see reviews from others, they are either fake (I came across a profile yesterday that was literally reviewing places each day that are nowhere near one other just to rack up points, but I could not find where to report the user).
I’d be curious how many “authentic” active users put me in that 1%, and how it compares to users elsewhere. From seeing posts on here, there seems to be much more involvement outside of the US (meetups, moderators), which makes me think that my application chances also dived to 1%.
Are you a Kansas City or Kansas guide? I want to know how many of us are out there!
