How Many of You Have Known Today's Gautama Buddha's Birthday?

"The Light Of Asia" Gautama Buddha was born this day in sixth century B.C. in Kapilbastu, Lumbini, Nepal.

And today, not only in Nepal but also all over the world in Buddhism community his birthday has celebrated with great honor and full of respect spreading his enlightened almighty messages to the entire world.

@Mr_Prach in India we celebrates as BUDDHA PURNIMA and holiday Is declared on theoccassion of BUDDHA PURNIMA.

@desi1 Yes exactly, This day is celebrated as “Buddha Jayanti” and also “Swan Punhi” from the Local Community of Kathmandu Valley, where Swan means Flower and Punhi means Purnima.

@Mr_Prach @desi1 , It is the most significant religious festival in Sri Lanka as well - for that matter in all Buddhist countries. Please see my post about the celebrations in a small temple in Melbourne yesterday… @Mr_Prach has seen this of course.

@Mr_Prach I was there twice actually, Saw Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and took a mountain flight as well. Enjoyed it tremendously… was planning a visit to Lumbini, but conditions weren’t very good then…
