@TraciC Since two days I face this telephone number issue thats very strange to find on editing page ie no option to enter contact number of the place I am trying to create. Why ?? Is that a issue google Map is facing, see screenshot.
Further when I receive the email from google maps team telling your photos have been featured, I don’t find it on map profile where I posted ?? WHY?

That’s not a bug. Currently, the app doesn’t provide a field to add a phone number. If you insist to add the POI with a phone number, please do that through a desktop.
About the second point, when a photo is featured, the message informs the place where that happened. If you have lost the message, it would be difficult to figure out.
Nevertheless, you will come to know after some days as the photo will grab lots of views.

Below is a screenshot of the page add a missing place.
Even the words " phone" are missing. No change in that even when I expand the field.
The app switches on or off certain features based on the region selected in the play store.
To eliminate one doubt, I tried creating new POI somewhere outside India. However, no change. My app doesn’t allow for the inclusion of the phone number.
I rolled back the app to the factory fitted Y2017 version. Still no change.
Some days back I complained about the loss of one feature after a factory reset (elevation graph for walking directions). Surprisingly, there is no answer. However, that strengthens my impression about “region-specific switching on” of certain features.
That behaviour doesn’t change even if you are anywhere in the world. What matters is the region registered in the play store.
BTW. I tried the creation of a new place on a phone of somebody else, having play store region, not from India. Surprise, phone number option appears in that!

You will be surprised to see that even though that profile now exist with GMB too but in India Google is doing such things since a week while creating a new profile there is no option to add telephone number but after the profile is created and GMB too created phone number doesn’t get posted, you may check that though GMB is also existing but the map profile also shows “Claim this business”.
Related to this Even the GMB support team is also fooling I have voice call recording too saved with me. My own GMB profile too is also existing the same ways. Other than that Entire Madurai Tamilnadu India alone is having this issue later Google India ppl tell bundles of lies, I have all call recording’s with me.
Since a Month all GMB profiles are also getting created without OTP or telephone numbers, and if contacted support team they don’t do anything.

@C_T thanks for your reply am sure you misguided me, before posting this post I personally travelled to nearby City created a profile, and checked very well that google map app supports creating a location using map application.
Only after confirmation I posted here on connect.

Regarding photos its my bad experience all those featured photo mails I always find photos are never posted if I get a featured photo notification.

What I asserted was factual information.
As it’s clear from the screenshot, even I do not have the option to add a phone number.

Hi there @C_T sorry if hurt you though it was not my intention, I said that because day before only I created a profile os sri bajarang fancy store, west great cotton road at Tuticorin Tamilnadu, different City where it got created that included the option to add phone number too. Check that.
@C_T thanks for your screenshot I know very well why all these things are happening, in India because I closely saw what Google India is doing.
Often I was finding request to help correct the details of “Sri Raja jewellery” but when I uploaded the correct details along with photos of visiting card, elevation and inside photo too, I find profile updated with edit success notification but not made any changes, this is not only one profile but almost on all profiles my photos are never posted WHY???
Regarding the location I tried to correct the street name many time but always I find messages telling could not be verified even after providing the visiting cards too.
Its so pathetic to find such errors in data base, one street contain details of another street located somewhere else.

The Google algorithms analyse different factors, such as the information submitted, the location of the input, your mapping activity, and other factors to make sure everything added to the map is accurate and follows our guidelines.
There are regions around the world where there simply is not enough information for some edits to come through successfully or immediately and it certainly has nothing to do with you personally. The more information you (or other Local Guides) collect about a place gives your input a better chance of getting through.
If you haven’t checked Why is my edit status “Pending” or “Not Applied”?, feel free to do it, as it lays down different aspects, which I’m sure you’ll find helpful!

@MoniDi Respected madam thanks for your prompt reply, and noted the contents but unfortunately within google maps certain things ( Like telephone numbers ) are missing due to which we are unable to provide all details and for your kind info EVEN GMB SUPPORT TEAM PUT THE BLAME ON MAPS TEAM FOR WHICH YOUR TEAM DOESNT RESPOND, REASON BEHIND BEING SUCH WAY IS IT IS MADE LIKE THAT BY GOOGLE INDIA MY BUSINESS TEAM LIKE THAT.
Even if we create map profile first or GMB profile first in either ways photos and telephone numbers doesn’t get posted. I have a proof for my statement, you may check Rajmahal silks 147, east veli street Madurai Tamilnadu India 625001, nobody can post photos on that profile, these sort of things are going on with GMB india since 8 months.
You may check my profile too where I can’t post any photos to any profile but I do get faq mails telling my photos have been featured check it out but when I go and check those profiles I dont see any photo of mine posted. See this notification screenshots, as well GMB profile that show "Claim this business too.

I find that the comment made by the user on the solution to be a repetition of the thread dated 23 inst.
Though I run the risk of earning an ominous label, still, I can’t hold myself from putting the facts in a proper perspective.
2a. People are posting photos on Rajmahal Silk, here is a screenshot of one latest photo posted in Feb 2020. Plus, the camera icon to upload a photo is also visible there.
2b. Additionally, posting of a photo to this POI is possible through the phone as well. A screenshot from the phone is as below. The camera symbol is oblivious along with the remark - “Inside the place”.
3 There are two POIs bearing name Pannagai Jewellers & the user is aware of that and has mentioned that in a review. The first one is claimed by the owner. However the second is available for claim.
The first place displays a photo uploaded by the owner as featured.****
The second displays a photo by the user as featured.
Incidentally, I find the interior in both the photos to be identical. Possibly, to maintain familiarity, the owner has replicated every feature at both places, and that includes the loosely tied electrical cables near the signage too.
Further I observe an incorrect practice of inclusion of phone number in the address of this second POI. ( I have scrambled the phone number to protect privacy). That defeats the very purpose of safety measures introduced by Google India.
