I’ve been using Google maps for a decade on multiple devices and multiple versions of Android, Windows and various web browsers, and this bug persists.
The bug is that the places I Starred years ago on any Android device do not appear in Maps on a web browser. To be clear, when I say “years ago” I mean before Google implemented Favorites, Want To Go and user defined lists.
The bug is that old Starred places will appear in Google Maps on any Android device I sign into, including new devices, but they will never appear in any web browser on any PC I sign into.
The work-around is to un-Star on Android, sign into PC and Star it on PC. Places I star on the PC always appear on Android but not vice-versa.
Further weird feature of this bug is that newly Starred places on Android will appear in a browser, but never a place that was originally Starred years ago. For those old places they must be re-Starred in a browser to appear on both devices. It’s as though there are two classes of “Starred” places in my history - some using the old API from years ago and some using the new API. Anywhere Starred using the old API won’t show as a Star in a browser unless pro-actively un-Starred on Android and re-Starred in browser.
