Will an hour be long enough? Or better if I do it for a couple hours? Thanks
When you submit a new meet-up there is no fix timing that how much time it can take to be approve.
As far as I know when you submit and a google moderator visit to meet-up section after 10 minutes, after verifying he/she will approve it.
Hi @Sandra1961 according to the Local Guides Help Center:https://support.google.com/local-guides/answer/6225579
It says this below and I quote:
Meet-up submission process
We will review your meet-up within one week, so we encourage you to submit your meet-up as early as possible. We will notify you when your meet-up has been approved or rejected. If approved, we will add it to the list of upcoming meet-ups. Note that we may edit your meet-up description before publishing. If rejected, we will let you know why and you will be able to submit a new meet-up for us to review.
In an overall sense it means after you submit your meetup it takes some days for it to be approved but the maximum is between 1 week for approval. There is no specific timing or date for approval, it can be approved anytime the Meetup has been submitted by review through the Google Moderator’s within that time range. Sometimes my meetup were approved within a day sometimes 2 days so it all depends on the Google Moderators after you submit it for them to review and publish it. I hope this information helps you.
Kind Regards,
Samson
Thanks, @deepakjhic and @HelloSamsonR . Somehow I made a mistake on the title of my question. I just edited it

Hi @Sandra1961 it is now up to you to decide when and how you want your meetup to be held, time and location. It is only you that will decide that. You the meetup host. If you want it to hold for 1 hour or less it still depends on you creating the event. There is no timeframe for how long a meetup will last. Just decide your time for your meetup either long or short times are all welcome, remember we are volunteers and we take our free time to help improve the Google Maps and no one can give us a timeframe on how long or how short a meetup should last. It all depends on you creating the meetup event. I hope this finally helps you :).
Thanks @HelloSamsonR . Need input from other host
hey @Sandra1961 : we mostly have done food meet ups. Not all of them were food crawls. We have gone out for brunch before and just hung out at the restaurant for 3 hours in total. We’ve done lunch for about 90 minutes, then walked around a bit for some photos Another time it lasted about 3 hours as well, about 90 minutes at a cafe then another 90 minutes at a diner. I think it totally depends. If you can, do a poll of your community, see if there is a restaurant or a few cafes in an area that people want to try out. This way, it’ll be something that is of interest to everyone ![]()
Good luck!
Great explanation @Shirley . Thanks a lot, it’s a 3 hours food meet up then.
