I am a travel vlogger and i have 100K+ Subscriber on my YouTube channel ‘Naradmuni Gyani Ghoomakkar.’ That’s why I know how Google Map has changed the world of travellers. Apart from Google Map, companies like Apple and Microsoft also have their own maps, but except Google Map the rest of the maps are not even around it. The biggest reason behind this is the army of Google Local Guides which are engaged throughout the day without any selfishness. Google map gives the most accurate information because every local guide visits every spot and updates it. Many new Start-ups like car rental, online food delivery are totally depends on google map.

Few years ago I don’t know about Local Guide Program. I used Google Maps to see the distance of two cities and I started reviews and uploading photos in Google Map. Initially, I took it as a fun because when you update anything in Google Map, you get some points. At the beginning you complete the level very quickly, This increases your excitement. Almost three years ago, first time, I received a mail for Local Guide Connect event after that I know about the Local Guide Connect website. I applied for 2018 connect event but not selected.
I am a budget traveller. India and the world are full of diversities. Language is your biggest problem while traveling. When I went to Thailand, I didn’t know thai. But only because of Google Map I was able to travel Thailand properly. Along with my destination, the map used to tell me which bus number will take me to there. And all this is possible due to Google Map and contribution of Local Guide. I get the benefit of this, so I too keep giving my small contribution to it.
During my MEET-UP
This year in the month of February, I did my first MEET-UP in my city, which was awesome. I will continue to MEET-UP in future. Google Map is changing itself, which is very good. These new features like Follower/Following will make the Google map more popular in public. Because of which more people will emerge as Google Local Guides.
