In a trip to Costa Rica, we made in 2019, it was so important to plan the trip locating places to go for relax and to eat, also to buy groceries, been on vacations I need to rely on updated information of the different destinations, and here is where local guides help a lot, also based in our own experience writing reviews and posting photos we think are worth it to share, photos from our own and unique way to live and see places.
Being a google maps user (and now a Local Guide) since the time Google released a version for the iPhone I was so impressed how easy was to find not only directions but photos that show a preview of the area I was looking for, first with desktop version was I sensation of security and later with the mobile version was just another level, not only because we can write and upload photos but we can see how a little “post-review” helps a lot to others users that are interesting in visiting the same places we enjoy it, and something that review or photo is critical in a desition to visit that place, we are just people helping other people, even we all carrier gadgets still is the users the ones we help the platforms to grow and a the same time getting help from others.
Also, one thing really amazed me is how fast the platform evolves with the feedback of us, one of the features really helped us a lot was to be able to have maps offline since in the trip to Costa Rica it was so important to have because the connection was not the best, I think it could be a good thing that in the near future to have the app offline and load some data and save it for our trips.
Now I am in the seek of meet-us in my area and why not organize one on my own.
