Hello, my name is Oswald. but call me oz I am 24 years old, I was born in costa rica which is one small country, but richest naturally in the world. I had the joy of living in many beautiful places in this country.
My first years of childhood spent in the neighborhood invu las cañas in Alajuela in which there is not much to visit but there is an exceptional baguette bread that we called melcochon in the pulpería(Little market) of the town
Then we went as sellers with my stepfather and my mom to San Carlos there lived in a place called agua zarcas which is a rural area of the country where we can find hot springs, livestock, bungee jumping or canopy activities in addition to an impressive volcano which is constantly erupting.
Then we returned to Alajuela, but the adventure did not end there. Later on, when I finished my school years, I traveled to Perez Zeledon, the city of solo bueno (popular saying in the area) where I discovered beautiful rivers where you can enjoy a natural pool restaurants with very diverse environments and in places that you can not even Believe, parks and many more places that I loved, but the most important thing was discovering my true passion. In this place we had our photo studio and I discovered that cameras were mine and express myself through the graphic arts.
I am a person whose head is flying thinking of different places, activities, ideas and many things. for which it is almost obligatory to take pictures of the places I visit and they surprise me, I also tended to spend hours thinking about growing up knowing places and having an interesting life, traveling to Mexico City and visiting the Garibaldi square or the palace of fine arts.
Or watch the sunset on the lake in front of the national museum in Seoul or simply hang a padlock in the Seoul Tower next to the person I love.
But I discovered that in this country there are many places to visit, but there was a problem I did not know how to get to these places because I always get lost very easily.
I still remember my first smartphone with only a couple of GB of memory and its advanced Google functions that made me feel like I had a computer in my hands. That’s when I discovered Google maps, a platform that thanks to this did not die distant place of my country, because in it I could know where I was and how to get to places. Then I discovered that I could see reviews of photos and even videos of other people so I wanted to do the same to help more people like me looking for some kind of reference or just a way to know other places through the camera’s eye of a local guide.
It was not just a geolocation application anymore, it’s a community where we can make great friends even though we are thousands of km away thanks to Google and this community felt the need to go to the next level so I started to take this further and I started to make my own videos with reference about places and share them on my YouTube channel in order to reach more people and show how beautiful it is to live here and who knows later could teach more things in a different country.
Thanks to this community I discovered some of the best hot dogs of my life and amazing shakes, we discovered a restaurant full of business cards air tickets messages that tourists leave in their way and their gallo pinto in which they gave us a salad.
We were able to visit one of the many volcanoes that we have in this country, we went for a walk to an abandoned hospital in which legends of terror are told which I do not believe are true, but it is the place with better views than any 5 stars hotel in Switzerland.
We also saw how the strength of nature can be a determining factor in not placing a church as it is coming down,
but in return we got a garden with beautiful architecture and places to hang out and where you can start one which grows with the years on itself and in number of faithful.
We have also had failed attempts I will not lie to you as I tried to sneak into the old water land to show you how this iconic place is today
but we
failed and discovered a completely hidden place in the middle of no where that we did not expect to find anything but apparently it is a place where you can go and do an activity with your friends, if you have to be a bit strong since there are many spiders around you because of the vegetation in the area.
Just for those little new places that we added that we give them a little exposure in a world full of big buildings or those small but delicious restaurants which one finds by mistake or simply share a good time with friends in a place that you enjoy a lot and your friends discovered thanks to you make you proud to stay in this beautiful community called local guides thank you very much to all of you who with their contributions make us stop being just one more person somewhere in a small country and now we are a community that does not recognize ethnic languages borders and show us as a world which we have the task of exploring but always respecting and without contaminating and above all with the mentality that we are all one and this planet is ours and we must preserve it for future generations.
