How Local Guide program impacted my life

Hi everybody,

My name is Thai, from Hanoi Vietnam, Local guide level 10. Since childhood, I have always been interested in traveling and exploring the mysteries around the world. For me, discovering the mysteries of nature and history has always been a fascinating and interesting challenge. One of the important travel companions are maps and later maps applications. I realize that Google’s applications are great compared to similar applications because it has a lot of utility and friendliness. So for more than 6 years I have been using Google Maps on every trip and it has been really helpful to explore strange and desolate places. Landscape photography is my passion, so with the Local Guide I had the opportunity to share over 20,000 photos, taken in over 40 countries with hundreds of attractive destinations. I am really happy to hear that there have been more than a million views and interesting comments. I find my work meaningful when it interests many people.

When I joined Local Guide program I had opportunity to make friends with many people around the world and we could change our experiences about traveling, cultures and traditional menu.

In addition, as a Local Guide, I also helped a few businesses sign up on Google Maps as well as wrote some reviews that help inform the people who are interested in.

I see that now with the Local Guide, Google has built a highly social forum and it is not only a normal navigation application but also allows its members to connect and share a lot of information that reflects every aspect of society from dining, entertainment to business and tourism. I am very proud to be a part of the Local Guide and look forward to making a lot of contributions in the future, as well as introducing my family and friends to join this program.
Have a nice day

Hi @Thai_Ngh yes Google Maps is just awesome and thankfully your country uses it widely…so far i’ve been to Hanoi, Sapa, HCM and Danang and relied heavily on Google Maps from getting to a destination or hunting for FOOD and of cos Vietnamese coffee!

Just sad the current Covid-19 pandemic situation now disrupted traveling plans. I actually was thinking of visiting Da Lat sometime this year. One day i’ll visit Hanoi again…hope to meet you up :slightly_smiling_face:

Strongly agree that Gmaps is that best travel companion, without Gmaps it’s not easy to travel alone :joy: I feel it when in Korea, Gmaps doesn’t work properly, we can’t get direction from it :disappointed: @Thai_Ngh
