I never used to be the guide and this all started after I made the decision to buy a Google Pixel 3 XL Device (I love the camera of this phone). As soon as I got the device I started taking photographs and eventually I realised that the photos I am taking are amazing and could help people to locate places, restaurants, pubs and public offices etc. I did some research on what kind of pictures other local guides are taking and what is the user experience when they see your photographs. Then where ever I travel, I used to take pictures of the places, local routes etc and uploaded them to the Google Contribution, Share your experience app.
The feedback was overwhelming, my pictures started making sense to the people around and it is actually helping them to know more about the places. I have got so many hits in very short span of time. Looking at the increasing numbers everyday was so satisfying and I got my motivation to click more and help more.
I turned into a Level 6 guide in less than a year… My most viewed photos have 2.8M Views. Yippeeee…
So you don’t have to buy heavy gadgets and cameras to be a guide. Just use your phone and take clear crisp, informative pictures.
