How I showed my NGO to the world

The most interesting thing I have done as a Local Guide is having my NGO on Google map free of charge!

For the past two years plus, I have been reviewing places and adding businesses on Google map but never knew that there was ever going to be anything that I could achieve being a local guide because I saw it as just one of those play I was playing at a point on Facebook hence I was doing it for fun.

The most interesting thing I’ve done as a Google Local Google was having my Jecinta Amaka Foundation Live on Google. The first time I added my business, I felt like a local girl who was taken newly to the city and she was pressed and couldn’t imagine how she can sit comfortably on the toilet seat… How unworthy!

People keep contacting me each time they find my NGO and our work, while some encouraged me and my team for what we are doing, others requested that they be informed about our next widows outreach program… This is amazing!

Honestly, I’ve been able to show the world what my NGO do for the widows in deep villages where we go with the little gifts we can afford as seen in the pictures above 2018 and 2019 and make them smile. This has been my greatest achievement as a Google Local Guide yet.

I can’t explain the joy I feel within me each time I check my business and few wonderful reviews people drop there. Thank you Google!

One interesting thing that ‘I did not do’ but happened to me this year was getting an email that qualified me for application to attend the celebration of Google 5 years of successful services to the humanity in California. This opened my eyes to understand what benefits awaits me as a dedicated Local Guide. Thank you for this opportunity!

Another interesting thing I’ve done being a local guide includes, making out time to review small businesses, eateries, hotels etc on Google maps and posting pictures because pictures says a lot. This is either to help them improve in their services or help them gain more customers with useful reviews. This act has really helped me realize how useful my reviews can be because of the messages I get from business owners.

I had activities scheduled with few friends to go for some photo walk before the COVID-19 outbreak in the world which shut down everything. Hopefully, we shall find time to review more places, businesses, and add missing places as soon as the pandemic is over.

It would be wonderful to be live on Connect Live 2020 if chosen, so I can learn more about Google products like Google Cloud and also learn from some of the Local Guides ahead of me.

As I type, I’m still grateful to Google for their services ranging from Google keep, Local Guides and other services etc and wishing them many more years of success as they celebrate.

This is the little I have achieved being a local guide, I know as a go getter, this is just the beginning for me because I now understand the benefits of being a Google Local Guide.

WATCH OUT FOR ME!
