How I love going back in time

I just love going back in time, maybe it’s my age, maybe it’s my love for history, but in today’s world where ‘geography has become history’, it has become easier for me to get a glimpse of what is available out there.

Just the reason why I love the Den Gyldene Freden aka 'The Golden Peace" to take me back in time to a period setting.

It is the world’s oldest restaurant maintained the way it was started in 1722 and finds itself in the Guinness book of world records for the same.

I make it a point to visit the Den Gyldene Freden whenever I visit Sweden. Located in Gamla Stan, known as the old town of Stockholm, the place really takes you back in time, right from the drinks of yester years to the classic meat ball dinner.

The stair case inside leading to the lower level, where you still can have a meal in the dungeons, is a simply superb feeling in time. The feeling of being back in the 18th century, how life and settings would have been back then, gives a glimpse into the how life and surroundings were then.

The Golden Peace really gives you a sense of peace and calm and continues to be one of my favorite restaurants.
