How I discovered the local guide program and it's impact on my life.

I remember when I first got to Northern Cyprus for studies. This was my first time to stay so far from home across the Mediterranean away from Cameroon, Africa. It was interesting but at the same time quite mesmerizing. Oh you know what, my first stop was Girne Kyrenia beside the sea where you could see ancient history to reality amazing right? I was so eager that the next day I visited so many places which I recorded on my map. It took me a week when I realized I have been a local guide even without knowing always answering to questions posted by people on Google map had I know it was something that will transform my life and make it even more interesting. I got the local guide connect icon on my screen for easy accessibility and with time I had the opportunity of meeting one of my best friends now who is also a local guide from UK just by responding to his questions and we plan on meeting since we had no issues using the GPS our meeting was made and it was a life changing experience because through that meeting this my friend open the door for me to do many other things to discover new things and he inspired more on travels. Common meeting someone whom I call a good friend and we’ve helped each other grow even out of local guide is a life changing experience that I can show the story over and over. Thank you so much local guide connect for making me meet people that even in my next life I couldn’t have had the chance. Thank you Google for you amazing options transforming the lives of many people in the whole wide world.

Hi @Mel-x ,

Just as a reminder, don’t forget when responding to others make sure to tag them (by writing @ before their names) in a post so they can receive notifications that you are communicating with them.

Hello @Mel-x and welcome to Connect!

I just wanted to let you know that I have removed the French language tag of your post as it’s written in English. These types of labels are used so that posts in different languages can be found more easily by Local Guides who are speakers of these languages. You can learn more about language tags in the article: How do I find posts in my preferred language?.
